Requirements: Bachelor in Civil or Architecture, Master’s preferred; 15+ years in civil/architectural engineering with at least 5 in PMC or Owner’s Engineer roles; offshore O&G exposure (platforms, jackets, topsides, FPSO, substations); FEED to commissioning; PE/CEng preferred. Wood is currently recruiting for an experienced PMC Specialist Engineer, Architectural/Civil for our client ADNOC Offshore project in Abu Dhabi as part of our instrument engineering within our Oil, Gas & New Energies business. 

Due to the nature of the projects and client expectation, the position will be based at our client office in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Specialist Enginer, Architectural/Civil is responsible for providing technical oversight, design review, engineering coordination, and construction support for architectural and civil works associated with offshore oil & gas facilities. The role ensures that EPC contractor deliverables comply with project specifications, international codes, client requirements, and safety standards while supporting timely project execution.

  • Review EPC contractor engineering deliverables related to architectural and civil disciplines.
  • Verify compliance with project specifications, client standards, and international codes.
  • Review drawings, material specifications, design calculations, and engineering reports.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and HAZID/HAZOP workshops where applicable.
  • Ensure constructability and maintainability are incorporated into the design.
  • Monitor EPC contractor engineering progress and quality.
  • Provide technical clarification and resolve engineering issues.
  • Review Technical Queries (TQs), Site Queries (SQs), and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • Support management of deviations, concessions, and design modifications.
  • Support offshore construction activities.
  • Review construction procedures and method statements.
  • Participate in site inspections and technical audits.
  • Resolve field engineering issues.
  • Review non-conformance reports (NCRs) and recommend corrective actions.

  • Review civil works including:

Expected

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture.
  • Master's degree is an advantage.
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent certification is preferred
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in civil/architectural engineering.
  • At least 5 years in PMC or Owner's Engineer roles.
  • Experience with offshore oil & gas projects, including:

    • Offshore substations
  • Experience with FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Strong experience in multidisciplinary engineering coordination.
