YMCA Victoria invites expressions of interest for casual Pool Lifeguards to support six regional centres in the Baw Baw area this summer. You will supervise busy aquatic spaces, maintain vigilant observation, educate patrons about safe practices, and intervene to protect people, facilities and equipment. Ideal candidates are patient, proactive, with strong interpersonal skills and a safety‑first mindset. Qualifications: Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain), CPR and First Aid. The summer pool season is approaching fast and we are now accepting expressions of interest in Pool Lifeguard work at our pool facilities. Operating at six centres across the Baw Baw region, we’re offering seasonal work opportunities for new and experienced Pool Lifeguards! The centres are:

• Drouin Outdoor Pool
• Neerim South Outdoor Pool
• Rawson Indoor Pool
• Thorpdale Outdoor Pool
• Trafalgar Outdoor Pool
• Warragul Leisure Centre

About the Job  

As a Lifeguard in the Baw Baw region, you’ll help provide a safe swimming environment for all visitors! Duties of the role include: 

• Supervising a large aquatic space while pro-actively ensuring a safe environment​ in and around the pool area 
• Maintaining concentrated observation of pools and patrons to anticipate and respond to problems 
• Ensuring facility rules are being obeyed whilst at the same time educating facility users about safe aquatic practices 
• Carrying out intervention and preventative action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patrons, the facility and equipment 

This is a casual position with an hourly rate up to $34.96 + Super & Y Benefits. 

About You 

We are seeking motivated and friendly Pool Lifeguards to come and join the team. 

You will be patient, focused, and pro-active in keeping our pool-users informed and safe.   

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of their communities.  

Qualifications 

• Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation 
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
