Well Life Services is seeking an experienced Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Allied Health team on a part time onsite basis in Toowoomba. In this role you will conduct functional behaviour assessments, develop person centred positive behaviour support plans, and coach families and carers to implement strategies, while collaborating with multidisciplinary stakeholder teams and keeping meticulous client records. Key requirements include tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Psychology, and Core to Advanced Registered Behaviour Support Practitioner status with the NDIS Commission, plus strong PBS expertise, FBA experience, and an understanding of restrictive practices. Demonstrate cultural awareness with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and CALD communities, and hold a Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening clearance and a valid driver’s license. The Role

The Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner assists individuals and families to identify participant needs, develop meaningful goals and practical strategies to meet those goals in the home and broader community.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct functional behaviour assessments and develop person-centred positive behaviour support plans
  • Support and educate families and carers to implement positive behavioural strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary Stakeholder teams to ensure holistic care for clients.
  • Maintain required records and documentation of client progress and interventions.

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work , Occupational Therapy or Psychology
  • Core, Proficient, or Advanced Registered Behaviour Support Practitioner status (NDIS Commission)
  • Thorough knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support frameworks including proven experience with functional behaviour assessments, intervention and service delivery practices and restrictive practice authorization processes.
  • Strong cultural awareness, particularly in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and CALD communities
  • Strong communication, case management, and interpersonal skills
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening clearance, and valid Australian driver's licence
