Baylor College of Medicine invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate to join Dean P. Edwards, Ph.D.’s lab in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. The role centers on independent experiments to express, purify, and characterize recombinant proteins for downstream structural and proteomics work, including mass spectrometry proteomic cross-linking and CryoElectron Microscopy. Responsibilities include cloning, cell culture for protein expression, data analysis, careful record-keeping, and contributing to publications. Requirements: PhD or MD in a basic or health science field; no experience required. Preferred: demonstrated independence, collaboration, and strong communication. Research activities will be conducted in the laboratory of Dean P. Edwards, Ph.D. a faculty member in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology. The main responsibilities are to conduct experiments within the Edwards laboratory. The Postdoctoral Associate in this position will have the opportunity to attend research seminars and symposia sponsored by the Department. Performs experiments independently on expression, purification, and molecular characterization of a variety of recombinant proteins that will be used for further analysis by structural and proteomics technologies.
