Do you enjoy translating complex customer needs into trusted, high-impact solutions? At Sectra Communications, you will play a central role in strategic opportunities across the Netherlands and other European markets supported by the Dutch office. Working closely with sales, local leadership, product management, and R&D in Sweden, you will help shape decisions in environments where secure communication truly matters and where your contribution is visible and valued.

Sectra Communications operates at the intersection of cybersecurity, defense, and critical infrastructure. We develop secure communication solutions used by governments, defense organizations, and institutions where failure is simply not an option.

At Sectra, we believe our work helps make society more secure and stable. That is why we are looking for people who are not only excited by complex challenges, but who also feel motivated by contributing to something that truly matters.

As Sectra Communications grows across Europe, the Netherlands office plays an important role in strengthening our presence closer to key markets outside Sweden. To support this growth, we are expanding the team with a Presales role focused on shaping complex opportunities, guiding customers through evaluation and procurement processes, and ensuring proposals are technically robust and commercially credible. Working closely with the commercial and product teams in the Netherlands and headquarters in Sweden, you will bring structure, technical depth, and confidence to strategic customer engagements while helping build a function that will grow in importance as the business scales.

The role

This is a customer-facing presales role focused on high-value, complex opportunities in secure communications across the markets managed by the Dutch office, with a strong emphasis on government, defense, enterprise, and critical infrastructure environments.

You sit at the intersection of customer requirements, commercial priorities, and technical credibility. Your role is to bring clarity to complexity: translating needs into robust solution narratives, identifying risks early, and helping position Sectra with confidence in strategic sales processes. You will work with highly specialized customers in environments where security, resilience, and trust are essential. For the right person, this role offers meaningful visibility, steep learning, and room to grow in both scope and responsibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Qualify customer requirements and assess solution fit early in the sales cycle
  • Shape solution approaches that are secure, credible, and commercially viable
  • Lead or support customer workshops, demos, and technical discovery sessions
  • Contribute to tenders, bids, and proposals with strong technical and functional input
  • Translate complex requirements into clear, persuasive customer-facing narratives
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and solution gaps that could impact deal success
  • Align customer needs with sales, product management, and engineering teams
  • Build scalable presales assets, demo content, and response materials that strengthen future opportunities
  • Assess operational implications, technical dependencies, and supportability risks early in the sales process

Sectra’s motto, “We hire for attitude and ability. Train for skill,” reflects how we assess potential. We are looking for someone who can quickly understand complex customer environments, structure information with precision, and translate technical and functional requirements into clear, convincing solution narratives. You combine analytical strength with strong communication skills and are comfortable operating in demanding, multi-stakeholder environments where trust, quality, and credibility matter. You are likely energized by responsibility, motivated by steep learning curves, and eager to make a meaningful contribution from an early stage.

We are looking for candidates who bring:

  • A Master’s degree in a technical area with strong academic results
  • Experience in presales, solution consulting, technical sales, or another customer-facing role
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English
  • The ability to quickly grasp complex technical solutions and explain them with clarity, structure, and confidence
  • Strong presentation and workshop facilitation skills for both technical and executive audiences
  • A structured working style with strong organizational and time management skills
  • A high level of ownership, precision, and the ability to operate effectively in complex sales environments
  • A solid understanding of secure IT environments, infrastructure, and network-related concepts, with the ability to discuss technical architectures credibly with customers

It’s a plus if you have:

  • Experience with public sector, defense, NATO, or other highly regulated environments
  • Affinity with complex B2B environments such as cybersecurity, government, defense, or critical infrastructure
  • Experience supporting tenders, proposals, or enterprise sales cycles
  • Fluency in additional languages such as German, French, Spanish, Italian, or Swedish
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows-based enterprise environments
  • Understanding of networking and VPN-related concepts - Familiarity with structured service or project methodologies such as ITIL or Prince2

Additional information: Dutch citizenship is required for this position. We review applications on an ongoing basis.

As part of your onboarding, you will spend time with the Customer Support Team to build a strong understanding of our portfolio, customers, and ways of working.
