You'll be responsible for managing customer rates and tariffs, developing pricing strategies that optimise yield, supporting major tenders, and ensuring our commercial offering remains competitive in a dynamic market.  In this role, you will:

  • Take ownership of PFL's customer tariffs and rate management within CargoWise.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that maximise yield and profitability.
  • Analyse market conditions and proactively respond to pricing opportunities and risks.

  • Lead customer pricing discussions and negotiations where required.
  • Work closely with Customer Experience to ensure pricing, service delivery and customer expectations remain aligned.
  • Support the development of integrated supply chain solutions across sea freight, air freight, forwarding, and logistics services.
  • Assist Sales teams, regional offices and agents in securing new business opportunities.
  • Contribute to trade budgeting, forecasting, revenue analysis and quarterly commercial performance reviews.
  • Monitor trade performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide commercial insights to senior leadership.
  • Represent PFL professionally with customers and industry stakeholders.

Qualifications

This is a unique opportunity to help shape a newly established role with significant influence across the business.  As a strong team player, you'll work alongside experienced commercial leaders and play a key role in driving the future success of PFL throughout the Pacific.

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

  • At least 5 years' experience within the shipping, freight forwarding or logistics industry in a similar role.
  • Commercial pricing, trade or sales management experience.
  • Experience developing pricing strategies and managing customer tariffs.
  • Strong analytical skills with intermediate Excel capabilities and the ability to interpret commercial data.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships across diverse teams and cultures, particularly within the Pacific region.
  • Experience using CargoWise (or similar freight management systems) would be highly regarded.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in our Airport office on Richard Pearse Drive. You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
