Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. Kinross began operating the mine in 2003, and it has since become a continuous improvement leader in the Company’s portfolio. Round Mountain poured its 15 millionth ounce in 2018. Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations. 

The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.

Job Summary

The Processing General Supervisor is responsible for leading safe, reliable, and efficient day-to-day processing operations to achieve production, recovery, and cost objectives. Reporting to the Processing Superintendent, this role provides operational leadership across ore processing activities, coordinates closely with maintenance, mining, technical services, and metallurgy, and develops high-performing teams through clear expectations, coaching, and accountability. The successful candidate will bring strong processing knowledge, sound operational judgment, and a visible commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Essential Functions

•  Lead by example and maintain a visible, proactive safety culture that supports safe production and environmental stewardship.
•  Ensure compliance with company standards, operating procedures, and applicable federal, state, and site-specific regulations.
•  Conduct effective safety meetings, field interactions, inspections, and follow-up actions to identify and address hazards promptly.
•  Hold crews, contractors, and peers accountable to safe work practices, operating discipline, and respectful workplace expectations.
•  Lead, coach, and develop supervisors to build a capable, engaged, and high-performing processing team.
•  Set clear expectations, monitor performance, provide timely feedback, and support employee development and succession planning.
•  Drive staffing activities as needed, including interviewing, selection input, onboarding, and task training.
•  Organize work priorities and deploy labor and resources effectively to meet operating requirements across the shift.
•  Promote a respectful, collaborative work environment grounded in accountability, communication, and teamwork.
•  Oversee daily operation of assigned processing areas to meet production and recovery targets safely and efficiently.
•  Coordinate with mining, maintenance, metallurgy, and technical services to align priorities, optimize plant performance, and support the daily operating plan.
•  Monitor process conditions, equipment availability, operational KPIs, and recovery/efficiency trends; respond quickly to deviations and emerging risks.
•  Troubleshoot operational issues, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives that improve stability, productivity, and cost performance.
•  Ensure operating procedures are followed consistently and that process equipment is utilized effectively and maintained in coordination with maintenance teams.
•  Use sound judgment and discretion in operational decision-making while balancing safety, people, equipment, and production priorities.
•  Complete and verify accurate production, shift, maintenance, training, and safety documentation in a timely manner.
•  Prepare and communicate operational updates, performance results, key risks, and improvement opportunities to site leadership.
•  Support development, revision, and implementation of standard operating procedures, training materials, and operating standards.
•  Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and operating practices that strengthen reliability, compliance, and team effectiveness.
•  Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

•  Minimum five (5) years of processing and/or ore processing operations experience
•  Minimum five (5) years in a demonstrated leadership in a supervisory capacity.
•  High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training in mineral processing, metallurgy, mechanical systems, or a related field is preferred.
•  Demonstrated ability to lead crews, coordinate work activities, and drive safe, reliable production in a fast-paced mining environment.
•  Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization and apply policies fairly and consistently required.
•  Ability to coach, develop, and hold employees accountable while maintaining a respectful and collaborative team environment.
•  Experience with plant reporting systems, Microsoft Office, and operational business systems; familiarity with JDE or similar CMMS is preferred.
•  Strong safety record and demonstrated commitment to environmental compliance, operating discipline, and continuous improvement.
•  Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
•  Valid driver’s license required.
