Auckland Council’s Procurement Delivery team has an opportunity for an experienced Procurement Coordinator to join the team.
In this role, you will manage end to end sourcing activity and guide business units through council’s procurement processes to achieve positive commercial, social and sustainable outcomes. You will partner closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, promote early procurement planning and ensure each project is delivered in accordance with council policies, processes and guidelines.
Your responsibilities will include preparing procurement documentatio,provide advice on contracts and supporting documentation, manage contract purchase orders and work with project managers to confirm insurance requirements.
You will support Senior Procurement Coordinators with more complex projects and help customers and suppliers navigate council’s procurement systems. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen procurement delivery across the organisation.
He kōrero mōu: About you
You will have at least two to three years of experience in procurement or a similar position, along with a strong understanding of end to end procurement processes. Experience working within central government, local government or another public sector environment would be highly advantageous.
You will understand the importance of transparency, fairness, accountability and compliance when delivering procurement activity within a government environment. You will be organised, analytical and confident managing multiple priorities while providing a high level of service to internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Practical experience supporting sourcing and procurement activities
• Sound knowledge of government or public sector procurement processes
• Experience preparing procurement documentation and completing price analysis
• An understanding of contracts, procurement policies and compliance requirements
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure
• Proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite
• A minimum of NCEA Level 3 or an equivalent qualification
Knowledge of Auckland Council processes, SAP or SAP Ariba would be advantageous. A current New Zealand driver licence is also desirable.
