Guzman y Gomez is seeking a full-time onsite Producer in Surry Hills to own end-to-end production across video, stills and social shoots. The role requires leading pre-production, sourcing talent and crew, managing props, locations, permits, schedules, budgets, and on-set decision making, ensuring shoots run smoothly even when weather or other factors shift. You’ll need at least two years in a producer role, a proven track record delivering shoots from brief to wrap, and strong budget and vendor management. Highlight your ability to build talent networks, handle call sheets and contracts, and stay calm under pressure. Tailor your application with concrete examples, a portfolio link, and a clear sense of how you can grow with GYG.
Company Description
At Guzman y Gomez Mexican Kitchen, our mission has always been to reinvent fast-food. We’re Australia’s only fast-food restaurant to be 100% clean, meaning there are no added preservatives, artificial flavours, added colours or unacceptable additives in our food. We’re incredibly proud of our amazing people, and the unique way we celebrate Mexican culture in everything we do.
Job Description
Every GYG shoot needs someone who has planned every detail — the talent, the props, the call sheets, the budget, and the fifteen things that can go sideways on a shoot day. The Producer owns all of it, so the creative team can show up and focus entirely on the work. If you love the organised chaos of a shoot day and take real pride in tight production, this is your role.
What You'll Do
- Lead end-to-end pre-production planning across all video, stills, and social shoots
- Source, brief, and manage talent including crew, ambassadors, customers, and extras
- Organise props, wardrobe, locations, permits, and on-set logistics for every shoot
- Build and maintain shoot schedules, call sheets, and run sheets for every production
- Manage external suppliers and freelancers including videographers, photographers, stylists, and crew
- Own production budgets across all shoots, tracking spend and flagging risks early
- Negotiate rates and terms with talent, agents, and suppliers to ensure value without compromising quality
- Lead on-set on shoot days, managing time, talent, and logistics
- Make sharp calls in real time when shoots need to flex around weather, talent, or technical issues
- Maintain the production calendar across all video and content output
- Build long-term relationships with talent agencies, suppliers, and crew to give GYG a strong production network
What You'll Bring
- 2+ years in a producer or production role within a brand, agency, or production company
- Demonstrated track record producing shoots end to end, from brief to wrap
- Strong budget management experience, with the ability to own and reconcile shoot budgets independently
- Confident managing multiple shoots and timelines simultaneously without dropping detail
- Strong network of talent, agents, freelancers, and external suppliers (or the ability to build one quickly)
- Expert working knowledge of production paperwork including call sheets, contracts, releases, and budgets
- Calm, structured, and resourceful under shoot-day pressure
- Strong leadership presence on-set, comfortable directing crew and making real-time decisions
- Food, hospitality, or QSR production experience an advantage
What You'll Love
- Join one of Australia's fastest-growing restaurant companies
- Real career growth in a marketing function that's investing heavily in its capability
- Annual short-term incentive scheme
- GYG restricted shares, earned each year through our long-term incentive scheme
- Up to 5 weeks of annual leave each year (ask us how)
- Paid parental leave
- The chance to one day become a franchisee and own your own GYG restaurant
- A vibrant Surry Hills office, a short walk from Central Station
