AIC is seeking an experienced and collaborative Programme Manager to lead the academic management and continuous improvement of our postgraduate programmes within the Applied Management department. This is an exciting opportunity to combine programme leadership with an academic role encompassing teaching, research and supervision, allowing you to shape programme quality, student success, and curriculum innovation while remaining actively engaged in learning and teaching.

About the Role

Working closely with the Head of Department, you will lead the day-to-day management, quality assurance and continuous improvement of postgraduate programmes. You will play a key role in driving curriculum innovation and embedding experiential learning, authentic assessment, and the responsible use of AI in learning and teaching.

You'll make an impact by:

• Leading programme planning, quality assurance, moderation, assessment coordination, timetabling support, accreditation activities, and programme reporting.
• Supporting curriculum review and continuous improvement to ensure programmes remain current, industry-informed and aligned with NZQA and partner institution requirements.
• Supporting student success through early intervention, learner support initiatives, employability activities, and an inclusive, high-quality learning experience.
• Supporting the implementation of experiential learning, authentic assessment, and AI-resilient assessment practices across the programme.
• Building strong relationships with employers, professional bodies, alumni, industry partners, and other external stakeholders to enhance programme quality and graduate employability.
• Supporting the induction and mentoring of new academic staff and promoting collaboration and sharing of effective teaching practices across the programme team.

About You

• A relevant postgraduate qualification (Master's degree required; PhD desirable).
• Demonstrated experience in programme management, academic leadership, or programme coordination within tertiary education.
• Experience in curriculum development, programme review, and continuous quality improvement.
• Experience working with NZQA, accreditation, or other regulatory quality assurance processes.
• Teaching and supervision experience in higher education.
• Experience coordinating projects, institutional initiatives, or quality improvement activities.
• Excellent communication, organisational, and relationship management skills.
• Strong engagement with industry, employers, and external stakeholders.
• Sound knowledge of experiential learning, authentic assessment, learner-centred education, and continuous improvement.
• An understanding of AI-enabled learning, AI-resilient assessment, and emerging digital technologies in higher education.
• A collaborative approach, strong professional judgement, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
