Kia ora! We’re looking for a seasoned Programme Manager to lead Heartland’s Regulatory & Compliance Programme — a portfolio of interdependent, high‑priority initiatives that protect and strengthen the bank while building sustainable capability for ongoing regulatory change.

Is this your role?

In this role you’ll provide strategic direction, governance and delivery oversight across business, risk, technology, legal and vendor partners. Your focus is programme outcomes: setting the roadmap, sequencing work, managing trade‑offs and interdependencies, and ensuring risks are visible early with clear options and recommendations for leaders.

What you’ll do

  • Own the programme vision, roadmap and governance rhythm (Steering Groups, working groups/transparent reporting)
  • Drive dependency management across multiple workstreams and delivery teams
  • Lead risk, financial and delivery control across a complex portfolio
  • Influence at executive level with clear, practical options and decisions
  • Partner effectively with vendors and large technology platforms, using the right delivery approach (hybrid agile / waterfall governance)

What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience leading multi‑stream programmes (major transformation, regulatory or risk/compliance)
  • Strong governance, planning, financial management and risk control
  • Comfort operating in fast‑moving, high‑accountability environments with non‑negotiable timelines
  • Excellent stakeholder leadership — able to align diverse priorities and keep delivery moving
