West Fraser’s Cariboo Pulp division in Quesnel is seeking a Project / Maintenance Engineer who reports to the Engineering Superintendent and supports the Operations Superintendent with equipment reliability. You will lead engineering and project management for maintenance and capital projects, plan turnarounds, manage budgets, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with vendors and technicians to install and commission equipment. You’ll develop annual and five year maintenance plans and oversee pressure vessel, piping and tank integrity programs. Requirements: mechanical engineering degree, EIT or P Eng, 3–4 years’ experience, pulp mill experience preferred, strong communication and problem solving, valid driver’s license. This position reports to the Engineering Superintendent and acts as a technical advisor to the Operations Superintendent in their area. You will recommend procedures, methods, materials, and specifications relating to the equipment in the area, reduce costs, and increase productivity of mill operations. You will learn best practices for the equipment in your area and use those practices to improve Cariboo Pulp. Previous experience is preferred but junior level applicants will be considered.
