Steering the offshore wind journey from the helm

You’ll be the central owner of project delivery, ensuring everything is done safely, on schedule, within contract requirements and on budget. You’ll set the standard for the contract, confirm all requirements are captured and delivered, and spot issues early, steering them to timely, controlled resolutions. Your day-to-day will include planning and delivering contract programmes, mentoring Site Managers and other leaders on site, and maintaining proactive client and stakeholder communication. Risk assessments will be created, maintained and revisited when needed, and you’ll handle most operational issues, with only the most critical matters escalated to the Project Director. You’ll oversee commercial activity tied to the project, including gross margin and cost control, while monitoring subcontractor performance and ensuring alignment with financial metrics. In short, you’ll manage both the technical and commercial threads that keep a major offshore project moving forward.

What you’ll need to lead offshore projects

  • A proven track record delivering oil and gas, natural resources, or major civils projects
  • Experience as a project manager responsible for a large scope of works
  • HNC, HND or NVQ Level 5, or a Degree
  • Experience on complex, multi-discipline enhancement projects with delivery within defined programme and cost controls
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to cultivate close working relationships with clients and subcontractors

What you’ll gain and how Murphy supports you

The role comes with 27 days of holiday plus bank holidays, with an option to buy an additional two days each year, and holidays that increase with length of service. There is a discretionary annual bonus and an annual salary review, along with an above-market contributory pension scheme. You’ll receive life assurance, health screening and enhanced sick pay, plus enhanced maternity and paternity pay and a maternity returners bonus. If you’re getting married, Murphy adds extra holiday and a wedding bonus. Substantial benefits also include subsidised canteen facilities in core locations, ongoing investment in your professional development, and a range of other Murphy perks such as retail discounts and cashback, discounted gym memberships and a cycle-to-work scheme.
