ENGIE is a global energy company focused on accelerating the energy transition, with a strong emphasis on safety, sustainability and transparent stakeholder engagement. This is a hands-on leadership role that will require building a small project team and driving continuous improvement across operations.

ENGIE is an equal opportunity employer, promoting diversity and committed to creating an inclusive environment for all. The Work Of A DDR Project Manager

You would steer the end-to-end delivery of decommissioning, demolition, remediation and rehabilitation projects, coordinating engineering, environmental and operational workstreams to keep things moving from planning through to completion.

You'll oversee project scope, schedules, budgets and risks, ensuring governance requirements are met and milestones are achieved. You would manage contractors, consultants and partners to deliver quality work and stay within contracts.

Building relationships with regulators, government authorities and internal stakeholders would be a key part of the role. You would lead a small project team and champion a safety-focused culture alongside ongoing continuous improvement efforts.

Regular travel to South Australian sites would support delivery, stakeholder engagement and hands-on site activity to keep projects on track.

The Right Candidate For This DDR Project Manager Role

  • A tertiary qualification in Project Management, Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Significant experience delivering large-scale decommissioning, rehabilitation, remediation, demolition, infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Solid grasp of project controls, governance structures, risk management and contractor oversight.
  • Proven experience in regulated environments, handling regulatory, compliance and stakeholder requirements.
  • Track record of engaging with regulators, government authorities, contractors and other key stakeholders to influence outcomes.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects safely, on time and within budget.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to South Australian sites to support project delivery and stakeholder engagement, ensuring safe and on-time execution.

Advice for Applicants

Lead with your DDR project leadership on your resume. Start with a concise summary that highlights end-to-end delivery of decommissioning, demolition, rehabilitation or similar projects, and mention any work on Hazelwood or South Australian sites if applicable.

Show your must-have capabilities with concrete examples. Describe how you've managed scope, schedules, budgets and risks; reference governance structures and contractor oversight; and point to your experience working in regulated environments and with regulators or authorities.

Be ready with a concise story about a complex DDR project where safety and compliance mattered, how stakeholders were engaged and how you kept the project on time and on budget. Expect questions about coordinating cross-functional teams and managing regulatory requirements, and be prepared to discuss how you approach site visits in South Australia.

Ask a targeted question at the end of the interview, such as what regulatory challenges are most pressing for the Hazelwood and South Australia sites, or how success is measured on DDR programs at ENGIE.
