Position Summary
The Test Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and governing testing activities across the delivery lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The role ensures business stakeholders are effectively supported to validate solutions, testing activities are aligned to the integrated programme plan, and risks, dependencies, and progress are clearly managed and reported. The Test Coordinator operates between delivery teams and the business, providing structure, visibility, and control over testing activities. The role focuses on enabling business-led testing, ensuring upstream testing outcomes are understood, and confirming solutions are fit for purpose prior to release.
Understanding of Testing Activities Supporting UAT
The Test Coordinator understands the end-to-end testing activities required to enable effective User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensures these activities are coordinated, visible, and aligned to business validation.
- Testing Scope and Readiness
Understands overall testing scope, environments, roles, timelines, and entry and exit criteria to ensure UAT is planned realistically and aligned to the integrated programme plan.
- UAT Preparation Inputs
Ensures business-focused test scenarios, test data, access, and supporting materials are in place so business users can execute UAT efficiently and with confidence.
- Upstream Testing Outcomes
Reviews and interprets system and integration testing results to confirm UAT readiness, identify residual risks, and prevent UAT being impacted by unresolved technical issues.
- UAT Coordination and Execution
Plans and coordinates UAT activities, supports business testers, tracks execution progress, and ensures issues and blockers are managed promptly.
- Results, Risks, and Sign-off
Consolidates UAT outcomes, defects, and risks to support informed business sign-off and release readiness decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain UAT plans aligned to the integrated programme plan.
- Coordinate UAT schedules, environments, test data, and business participant availability.
- Define and manage UAT entry and exit criteria.
- Act as the primary point of contact for business testing stakeholders.
- Provide guidance, materials, and support to enable effective business testing.
- Manage expectations and maintain strong working relationships.
- Support the UAT defect management process from logging through closure.
- Facilitate defect triage, prioritisation, resolution, and retesting.
- Ensure clear visibility of defect status and impact.
Progress Tracking and Reporting
- Support the tracking of UAT execution progress, including pass, fail, blocked, and outstanding scenarios.
- Report testing status, risks, and dependencies to programme stakeholders.
- Highlight variances to plan and recommend corrective actions.
Risk and Dependency Management
- Identify, assess, and manage testing risks impacting UAT and business readiness.
- Map and manage dependencies between interrelated testing streams and releases.
- Escalate risks and dependency issues with mitigation options.
Governance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure testing activities comply with agreed QA processes and governance standards.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, UAT scenarios, defects, and sign-off.
Key Capabilities and Experience
- Experience coordinating global operations testing across regions and time zones
- Strong understanding of structured testing activities and UAT coordination.
- Proven experience supporting business-led testing in complex programmes.
- Strong planning, organisation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Disciplined approach to defect management, reporting, and risk management.

Additional skills required
- 10+ years of experience in software testing plus 5+ years of team leadership experience
- Experience in large scale front-office, middle-office and back-office programme delivery in asset management/financial services sector
- Deep understanding and business knowledge on OEMS End-to-End life cycle covering all asset classes
- Experience of implementing BlackRock’ Aladdin Platform
- Experience in leading business test execution phases using both manual and automated testing practices
- Familiarity with test and defect management tools (JIRA)
- Certification in testing practices
