Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company LLC, a proud member of the Ghobash Group, is recruiting a QAQC Engineer, E&I to join its onsite team in Abu Dhabi. The role is centered on safeguarding quality across electrical and instrumentation work on major oil and gas projects, with hands-on involvement in inspections, testing, and documentation that keep installations compliant with approved procedures and standards.

EEIC has built a strong reputation partnering with ADNOC and with Tier 1 and Tier 2 EPC contractors to deliver full EPC&M services for electrical and instrumentation tasks. The team localizes expertise to measure and automate exploration, production, separation, refining processes, and distribution. This position suits someone who enjoys practical quality control, meticulous record-keeping, and guiding field inspectors on large-scale deployments.

Ideal candidates will bring a solid engineering foundation in electrical or instrumentation disciplines and a track record of leading QA/QC activities on oil and gas or heavy industrial projects, all with a practical, hands-on approach.

QA in action on E&I projects

In this role, you’ll drive the project Quality Plan and ensure E&I activities adhere to approved procedures, ITPs, and method statements while preparing and maintaining ITPs, checklists, and quality procedures for E&I works. You’ll review drawings, specifications, datasheets, and vendor documents to confirm that technical and quality requirements are met, and you’ll verify incoming materials and equipment against purchase orders, MT Cs, and certificates.

You’ll witness and supervise the installation of electrical systems, from MV/LV cable laying and termination to cable trays, earthing, lighting, and power distribution, as well as instrumentation hook-ups, impulse lines, tubing, and cable routing. You’ll assess installations in hazardous areas, ensuring Ex certification and adherence to IECEx/ATEX requirements and area classification drawings, and you’ll oversee testing and pre-commissioning activities such as insulation resistance, megger tests, VLF/hipot tests, continuity, earth resistance, relay and protection tests, instrument calibration, and loop checks.

Calibration records will be reviewed and test equipment calibration status confirmed. You’ll raise, track, and close non-conformance reports, drive corrective and preventive actions, and coordinate with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and subcontractors on inspection hold points and witness points. Internal audits, surveillance inspections, and subcontractor quality evaluations will also come under your remit, along with maintaining quality records and compiling final documentation packs, as-built drawings, test records, certificates, and MDRs. You’ll produce quality reports, KPIs, and progress updates for project management, and you’ll support system completion, mechanical completion certification, and handover to commissioning and operations, all while mentoring QA/QC inspectors on the project team.

What the ideal candidate brings

A bachelor’s degree in electrical, instrumentation, or electronics engineering is required, along with a minimum of eight years’ QA/QC experience on electrical and instrumentation work in oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial projects. You should have a proven track record developing and applying ITPs and quality procedures for E&I construction, plus solid knowledge of IEC, IEEE, NEC, API, and ISA standards and ADNOC or equivalent client specifications. Familiarity with hazardous-area equipment standards (IEC 60079, IECEx/ATEX) and hands-on experience with cable testing, loop checking, calibration, and pre-commissioning activities are essential. You must also be able to read and interpret SLDs, cable schedules, loop diagrams, instrument datasheets, and hook-up drawings.

Tips to stand out for this role

Lead your resume with your degree and at least eight years of QA/QC experience in electrical and instrumentation for oil and gas or heavy industry, and highlight specific projects where you led ITP development and quality procedures.

In your experience section, demonstrate how you created and applied ITPs and quality procedures for E&I construction, and reference the standards you’ve used (IEC, IEEE, NEC, API, ISA) and any ADNOC-style specifications you’ve followed, including hazardous-area considerations.

Be ready to discuss concrete examples of handling NCRs, corrective actions, hold points, witness points, and the testing and pre-commissioning work you oversaw, including calibration records and loop checks.

Ask a targeted question about how the QA/QC team collaborates with third-party inspectors and how Ex certification and area classification compliance are managed on ADNOC projects. It shows you’ve thought through the specific challenges of these environments.
