Guidance For Applicants For This Role

Lead with what this job needs most: your direct QA/compliance experience, especially in regulated environments, and your HACCP and Preventive Control Plan knowledge. Put your Bachelor of Science and 3+ years of relevant work up front, and highlight any cannabis-related experience or safety exposure in the first section of your resume.

When you prove the must-have skills, cite concrete examples: the CAPAs you owned and closed, how you handled supplier quality issues, details of batch record reviews and label approvals, and how you used QMS data to drive improvements. Include metrics where possible, such as CAPAs closed in a period, reductions in deviations or improvements in KPI trends, and any use of analysis tools like Excel or statistical software.

In interviews, be ready to discuss real-world QA scenarios tied to audits, recalls, export activities and risk assessments. Outline your approach to problem solving, change controls, and cross-functional collaboration, and be prepared to explain how you ensure regulatory compliance across multiple markets.

Ask a sharp question to end: how does the QA team collaborate with other functions on global regulatory changes, and what is the current priority for improving the QMS across Canada and international markets? You could also ask about the scope of HACCP and Preventive Controls within the company’s export activities and how success is measured for quality improvements.
