Night shift guardians of product quality

The Quality Inspector is the person who helps ensure every product leaving the line meets established engineering and quality standards before it goes to customers. In this role, you’ll run inspections, review technical documents, and support ongoing improvements across manufacturing processes. The right candidate will bring sharp attention to detail, solid problem-solving skills, and a practical grasp of quality principles within a production environment.

  • Prior experience in a similar quality-focused role within manufacturing
  • Solid understanding of quality principles and the practical application of best practices
  • A mindset oriented toward continuous improvement

  • Experience working in a metal fabrication facility

Pay, benefits and practical details

The role is on-site in Calgary and carries a graveyard shift schedule. Modine offers a competitive benefits package that may include paid vacation, short-term disability, health, dental, vision, life insurance, and additional coverage. More detail about benefits will be provided by Human Resources during the hiring process. Advice for applicants

Lead your resume with the quality-inspection experience you’ve had in manufacturing, especially where you reviewed plans, blueprints, and specifications and performed final product inspections. If you’ve worked with metal fabrication, highlight that early so it catches the reader’s eye.

When you describe your must-have skills, back them up with concrete examples: how you applied quality principles, what standards you upheld, and a measurable outcome from your work, such as reduced defects or improved inspection turnaround times.

Prepare for interviews by walking through how you interpret plans and specifications, how you document non-conformances, and how you collaborated with production teams to close gaps. Bring a specific non-conformance you resolved, the actions you took, and the result.

Ask a precise question that shows you’ve thought about the role on the Calgary site, such as which quality metrics the team tracks on the graveyard shift and how improvement initiatives have been prioritized there. A good follow-up is to inquire about opportunities for hands-on training or process improvements during the shift.
