QuEra Computing UK seeks an impact-motivated theoretical researcher to co-design novel quantum simulation applications for its neutral-atom hardware, working with academics, clients and partners to tackle challenges from near-term error correction in quantum simulation to creating new pipelines for quantum materials, quantum chemistry and nuclear physics. The role requires a PhD in physics, computer science, or a related field or equivalent experience, a strong background in quantum computing with demonstrated expertise in quantum simulation across condensed matter, materials, nuclear physics or chemistry, and experience with numerical many-body methods and quantum circuits, plus hands-on circuit programming and compilation with tools such as Cirq, Qiskit, TKet or CUDA-Q, and an exceptional publication record with proven cross-functional collaboration. Preferred: knowledge of quantum error correction, translating theory to hardware, experience with neutral-atom hardware, and software engineering or HPC. Tips to apply: tailor your CV to highlight relevant projects and outcomes, include 2-3 representative works, show collaboration across academia and industry, and clearly connect your experience to QuEra's goals and the UK Harwell site.
Summary
