The Great Bear project is a development-stage asset located in the renowned and prolific Red Lake mining district, and represents one of the most exciting recent gold discoveries globally.  The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross’ comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.

Job Summary

Under the guidance of the site Geology Team, RC Sampling Technicians are positive, hardworking, team players who are responsible for supporting the Geology Team. 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Organize samples from the RC Drill Program.
  • Assist drill contractors in drying and sorting samples. 
  • Seal sample bags for security. 
  • Check for errors in sampling procedures. 
  • Insert QA/QC samples directed by company procedure. 
  • Organize sample shipments to off-site lab.
  • Able to work in the field and stand for extended periods of time. 
  • Maintain good housekeeping at all times.
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.

  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.

Qualification and Skill Requirements

A minimum of Grade 12, or GED is required. 

Candidate must be able to frequently lift upwards of 50lbs. 

Working Conditions

This position is based in Red Lake, Ontario. The schedule for this position is 7X7.

 

Compensation and Total Rewards

 

The hourly range for the RC Sample Technician is $28.69.
