Re-sign & Renewals Sales Executive
BT GroupBT Group is looking for a Re-sign & Renewals Sales Executive to help keep its Mid-Market customers on term with BT. This is a desk-based, hybrid role in London where you’ll work closely with Account Managers and internal teams to protect existing revenue while spotting chances to grow value across BT’s connectivity and specialist offerings. If you enjoy blending customer retention with commercial negotiations and a bit of account growth, this could suit you well.
With a long history in the UK, BT Business has more than 180 years of heritage and now serves 1.2 million business customers. The company prides itself on secure connectivity and collaboration platforms that support organisations of every size, from government departments to sole traders. In this role you’ll be part of a team that puts customers first and champions practical solutions across BT’s portfolio.
If you’ve handled B2B renewals or re-signs before, are comfortable with pricing conversations, and want to help customers stay with BT while uncovering opportunities to broaden their usage, you’ll likely feel at home in this role.
Keeping renewals steady in the mid-market
You’ll manage renewal and re-sign opportunities for existing Mid-Market customers, primarily around networking and IP connectivity services, ensuring terms are right for both the client and BT. You’ll reach out proactively to customers approaching renewal, listening to their needs and guiding opportunities through to a successful re-sign. Commercial conversations, covering pricing, contract value and customer requirements, will be a core part of what you do, along with spotting renewal risks and working with Account Managers to keep customers and revenue intact. Renewal discussions will also be a springboard to identify upsell, cross-sell or migration opportunities across BT’s offerings, including networking, voice, mobile and IT. You’ll build and advance a qualified pipeline with clear visibility of upcoming renewals, risks and sales opportunities, and you’ll manage opportunities end-to-end with support from finance, pricing and specialist teams, while keeping CRM and forecasting information up to date.
What you’ll bring to the role
- Experience managing B2B renewals, re-signs or retention activity focused on commercial outcomes, with direct involvement in securing a further contract term.
- Proven B2B sales background, ideally inside a desk-based or inside-sales environment with existing customers.
- A track record of meeting renewal, retention and/or sales targets.
- Strong commercial sense and negotiation skills, comfortable discussing pricing, customer value and commercial propositions.
- Ability to handle a portfolio or pipeline of customer opportunities, prioritising and advancing them to close.
Desirable skills you might bring
- Experience selling in telecoms, connectivity, networking, technology or another recurring-contract B2B setting.
- Background supporting Mid-Market or SME customers.
- Knowledge of connectivity, networking or IP-based solutions within a sales context.
- History of identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities during the renewal lifecycle.
- Experience working alongside Account Managers and commercial, pricing or specialist sales teams.
Pay, benefits and practical details
The package reflects BT’s approach to growth and wellbeing. Highlights include a 50% on target bonus, access to an online private GP 24/7 for you and your immediate family, and market-leading paid carers leave with up to two weeks off. There is equalized maternity, paternity and adoption leave, 18 weeks’ full pay and 8 weeks’ half pay, plus discounted EE and BT products, including mobile and broadband. The pension scheme is strong, with 5% from you and 10% from BT, and there’s an holiday purchase scheme. The role is London-based with a hybrid work pattern, and BT positions its people in a way that supports growth, wellbeing and everyday life.
Nail the renewal role: guidance for applicants
Lead your resume with solid examples of B2B renewals you’ve secured and contract extensions for existing customers, especially where you balanced retention with value growth.
Show concrete results for the must-have skills by quantifying your impact: how many renewal deals you closed, how you managed a portfolio or pipeline, and the pricing or value levers you used in negotiations.
In interviews, be ready to talk through renewal scenarios that involved risk or churn, what actions you took with cross-functional teams (finance, pricing, and specialists), and how you positioned BT’s broader portfolio to the customer.
Ask a focused question about the role’s cadence and how renewal conversations feed into upsell across BT’s connectivity, voice, mobile and IT products, and how the team collaborates with pricing and specialist sales to support those conversations.
