The opportunity

Join Downer as our Regional Manager NZ Water and lead the performance, growth and operational delivery of a diverse portfolio of Water construction projects and Operations and Maintenance contracts across New Zealand.

Reporting to the General Manager Water, you will provide leadership to Contract Managers and operational teams, driving safe and sustainable delivery, strong commercial outcomes, client satisfaction and business growth. 

Based in Tauriko, New Zealand, you will play a key role in strengthening operational performance, supporting strategic growth opportunities and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement. 

 

What we’re looking for

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline  
  • Significant leadership experience within infrastructure, utilities, construction or maintenance environments 
  • Proven success managing complex operational portfolios with accountability for financial performance and growth 
  • Water construction or maintenance experience preferred 
  • Strong commercial, client relationship and stakeholder management capability 
  • Experience leading large teams, driving operational improvement and building a strong safety culture 
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking and problem solving skills
