An Auckland fixed-term on-site Rehabilitation & Recovery Coordinator role invites registered health professionals to join a brand-new programme hiring four coordinators to speed recovery and safe return-to-work for patients, collaborating with GPs, nurses, allied health, ACC, employers and community providers. You’ll be a proactive, people-centred coordinator not a case manager, guiding patients and whānau through biopsychosocial barriers and delivering recovery-focused care with a multidisciplinary team. To apply, highlight your APC, show experience in rehabilitation, primary care or return-to-work, demonstrate strong relationship-building, communication, and a solutions-first mindset, and illustrate real outcomes you’ve helped achieve. Emphasise equity, cultural responsiveness, adaptability, and a passion for shaping future care as a founding RRC.

Rehabilitation & Recovery Coordinator (RRC)

📍 Auckland | 🕒 Fixed-Term
🚀Be part of a brand-new programme transforming return-to-work outcomes

Are you an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, registered nurse or another type of registered health professional? We’re launching an exciting new initiative designed to improve recovery journeys and help people get back to work faster, and better. As part of this, we’re hiring four Rehabilitation & Recovery Coordinators (RRCs) to join our growing team.

This is your chance to shape how injury recovery is delivered in primary care, working in a clinical role at the intersection of healthcare, community, and workplace support.

About the role

As an RRC, you’ll walk alongside patients (and their whānau) through their recovery journey - helping remove barriers, connecting them to the right support, and creating smooth pathways back to work.

Working as part of your patient’s primary care team, you’ll collaborate closely with GPs, nurses, allied health professionals, ACC, employers, and community providers, ensuring patients receive coordinated, holistic care.

This is not a case management role - it's a proactive, people-centred coordination role that focuses on outcomes, empowerment, and meaningful recovery.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting patients at risk of delayed recovery with proactive, hands-on coordination
  • Identifying barriers to recovery using a biopsychosocial approach
  • Working closely with clinical teams to deliver recovery-focused care
  • Partnering with employers to enable safe and sustainable return-to-work plans
  • Providing ongoing follow-up via clinic, phone, and telehealth appointments
  • Contributing to a new programme shaping the future of injury recovery

Why join us?

Be part of something new: help design and embed an innovative model of care
🤝Work collaboratively:  across primary care, ACC, and community partners
💡Influence change:  your insights will help shape best practice across the sector
🌱Grow your career: develop expertise in rehabilitation and integrated care
💙Make a real difference: support people to regain independence and quality of life

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for passionate, empathetic professionals who thrive in collaborative environments.

You’ll bring:

  • A background as a registered health professional (e.g. allied health, nursing, rehab) with a current APC (essential)
  • Prior experience or strong interest in rehabilitation, primary care, or return-to-work support
  • Confidence working across multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A solutions-focused mindset and ability to navigate complex situations
  • A commitment to equity, culturally responsive care, and continuous improvement

What success looks like

You’ll be someone who:

  • Builds trust quickly with patients, clinicians, and employers
  • Takes initiative and thrives in a new, evolving environment
  • Is motivated by better outcomes, not just processes
  • Brings empathy, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping others

Ready to make an impact?

If you’re excited about being part of a new programme that will shape the future of recovery care, we’d love to hear from you.
