The Relationship Associate is responsible for supporting Relationship Managers in making banking easier for customers while delivering solutions and insights. As part of a high performing team, your attention to detail and opeational excellence will help you develop strong risk management, credit and relationship skills.  This role is ideal for emerging staff with the potential to take on Relationship Management responsibilities.

 Role Location: Canterbury

Role Type: 18-month Fixed-term

Hours: Standard, Monday to Friday 37.5 hrs

The Relationship Associate is critical to making this happen and key responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Listen, respect and value customers to learn more about them and gain a greater understanding of their business requirements and service needs
  • Work with Relationship Managers/ Senior Managers and product partners to develop and deliver appropriate customer solutions.
  • Provide support for financial analysis and interpretation of customer information to ensure accurate credit decisions are made at all times
  • Assist in maintaining and growing our customer base through building strong customer relationships and providing effective solutions to customer needs
  • Deliver insights to support our customers be successful  
  • Connect with stakeholders across sectors, both internally and externally to build a network of advocates.

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Experience in developing strong relationships in a customer delivery role
  • Strong analytical ability to assess and interpret implications of financial trends
  • Tertiary qualification in a financial discipline or previous financial/lending experience
  • Sound understanding of the structuring of security arrangements
  • Experience within the Banking and/or Finance industry
