Summary

The Department of Medicine, Section of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, is looking to hire an competent and reliable Research Assistant I to recruit patients and write manuscripts for clinical research. The candidate will focus on Gastroenterology research, presenting data to PI weekly. It is the responsibility of this candidate to support the PI for various studies, existing and initiating new, to continue to support the College's Research Mission.

Job Duties

  • Assists with Grant Writing, IRB submission.
  • Assists in research protocols to help PI meet grant deliverables.
  • Supports PI investigator initiated and industry sponsored clinical trials related to liver disease.
    • writing protocols, working with IRB and writing manuscripts 
  • Recruits patients, consents, collects and analyzes data for several ongoing clinical trials, presenting weekly to PI.
  • Initiates new awards and protocols.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarize information in an appropriate format for a particular study, and assist in publication
  • Documents and interprets results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
  • May develop and modify computer programs.
  • May assign activities to less experienced research staff.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in basic science or a related field.
