Job Description

This position is based at the Lesaffre Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) in a team dedicated to Applied Microbiology and Enzymology (MicroOrganismS Center of Excellence).

The activity is focused on the validation and characterization of enzymes and the development and implementation of new enzymatic assays.

 

Responsibilities:

- You ensure the development and execution of low and medium throughput enzymatic tests. You perform enzyme validation and characterization in complex matrixes.

- You set up the experiments and carry out the tests until the writing of the results and protocols. You can analyse, synthetise and present the results to the project team (in English if needed).

- Your sense of innovation makes you monitor the new technologies and substrates related to enzyme activity assessment and characterization.

Qualifications

  • Master degree in Biochemistry or enzymology. You have at least 3 years of experience in the enzyme field.
  • Theoretical knowledge and significant practical experience in enzyme characterization and enzymatic assay development, with the use of statistical tools. The use of automated analyzer and knowledge on proteomics are desired.
  • You have already been using a LIMS or an ELN in a previous position.
  • Well organized in your daily work, you have strong analytical skills and a critical thinking regarding results of assays. You enjoy working in the lab, handling your owm experiments.
  • You have good communication skills, you like synthetizing, sharing and presenting your results.
  • Team player, you are comfortable with transversal way of working.
