The role coordinates grants acquisition and fundraising activities and provides hands on support to MONC clinicians and researchers, ensuring the successful planning, coordination and ongoing management of service improvement and translational cancer research projects. Requirements include a tertiary degree or equivalent translational cancer research experience, familiarity with budgeting, ethics submissions and research contracts, plus experience establishing collaborations and navigating grant funding processes. You should have excellent organisational skills, solid presentation and negotiation abilities, and the ability to prioritise demanding deadlines, with familiarity of ethical and legal requirements for research involving human biospecimens, imaging data and clinical metadata. The Department
The Medical Oncology (MONC) Unit provides multidisciplinary management for adult cancer patients. An important component of its continuous growth is the activation of service improvement and research projects. With strong affiliations with Monash University, the Unit has a growing portfolio of clinical and translational projects led by senior MONC clinicians across a wide range of tumour types.
The Role
Working with MONC clinicians and researchers, the position is responsible for coordinating grants acquisition and fundraising activities. The role also provides hands-on support to MONC clinicians and other staff members ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and ongoing management of service improvement and research projects.
