Mt Hutt Ski Area is seeking Retail Assistants for the 2026 winter season to greet guests, share product knowledge, drive sales and manage stocktakes, POS till operation and store layout. If you are a real people person with retail experience, especially in snowsports, and you can absorb large amounts of information while handling cash accurately, you’ll fit right in. The key to success in this role is the ability to engage with our guests in a fun manner while you seek to match their needs with the goods we have on offer.

Our on mountain retail store sells some cool stuff - from our branded range to the latest goggles, sunglasses and accessories, it's a great place to work!

Supplier representatives will train you in their range - however, a passion for sales and the ability to retain large amounts of information will help see you right in this role.

About the Role
• meeting and greeting all guests and visitors to the store
• sharing your passion and knowledge of the products for sale with our guests
• seeking opportunities to maximise sales
• monthly stocktakes
• operation of the Point of Sale (POS) till system and balance takings at the end of each day
• managing the layout and displays
About You
• previous experience in Retail, preferably in a snowsports apparel related environment
• a real people person - we want you to be the 'personality' of our store. Guests don't just come in for the products they want to talk to YOU!
• previous experience in a sales environment along with proven cash handling skills
• ability to absorb large quantities of information
• an interest in learning about snow sports products and pricing
• good mathematical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
• previous experience using Point of Sale (POS) systems
• willingness and flexibility to assist other departments as and when required
• an understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed
