$36,000 - $40,000 CAD yearly

Canna Cabana, part of High Tide Inc., is hiring part-time Shift Leaders for its Burlington store. The role sits onsite at the Guelph Line location and is ideal for someone who wants to take ownership on the shop floor, mentor a team, and deliver solid customer service in a growing cannabis retail environment. High Tide Inc. is a large cannabis retailer with a broad footprint and a history of expanding its brands and stores, including Canna Cabana being the largest cannabis retail chain in Canada with hundreds of locations.

As a shift leader, you’ll work closely with store management to keep daily operations running smoothly, stepping in when the Store Manager or Assistant Manager isn’t available. You’ll guide and support staff, greet customers, help resolve issues, and ensure the store stays compliant with health, safety, and policy standards. You’ll also help manage inventory on your shift and push the team toward sales targets and key performance indicators, all while modelling professional conduct for peers and junior team members.

The role is well-suited for people who come from retail backgrounds, especially those who have worked in cannabis or other regulated environments, and who enjoy leading a team, solving problems on the floor, and maintaining a calm, friendly store atmosphere for customers.

Shaping the day-to-day on the shop floor

On a typical shift, you’ll provide leadership and direction when store leadership isn’t present, ensuring day-to-day operations run consistently and smoothly. You’ll be the sales and service leader on the floor, helping teammates meet sales goals while keeping customers feeling welcome and informed. You’ll handle guest concerns as they arise and escalate issues when needed, all while ensuring health, safety, and security standards are followed and inventory processes stay on track. Your presence will help the team stay focused on service quality, product knowledge, and seamless store operations as you support staffing and training needs during your shift.

Tips to help your application stand out

Put CannSell certification at the top of your resume under licenses or certifications, since it’s a hard requirement to work in cannabis retail.

When you describe your background, highlight concrete examples of how you’ve trained and motivated staff, managed inventory on shift, and helped teams reach sales targets in a retail setting.

Be ready to talk through scenarios involving customer complaints, policy adherence, and how you would step in during a shift without a Store Manager or ASM present, including how you’d maintain safety standards and unit-level KPIs.

Ask a smart question about growth opportunities or how the store measures success on shifts, something that shows you’re thinking about both your own development and the team’s performance within the company’s expanding footprint.
