About the role
The Risk and Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting Attain Group’s management of regulatory, consumer, and safeguarding risk across its businesses, including Mable. The role focuses on ensuring compliance with key legislative and regulatory obligations, strengthening risk controls, and supporting the safe operation of platforms and services used by vulnerable consumers.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong judgement, regulatory and technical literacy, and the ability to balance safety, fairness, and commercial realities in complex, fast-moving environments.

You will:

  • Lead day to day risk and compliance oversight across the business.
  • Maintain and uplift our risk register, contribute to reporting packs, and run risk champion sessions.
  • Conduct reviews against key legislation, including:
  • Australian Consumer Law
  • NDIS Act and associated Rules
  • Aged Care Act and Quality Standards
  • Privacy Act and Australian Privacy Principles (including the Mandatory Data Breach Notification scheme)
  • Be on the front foot with privacy and data breaches, partnering with our data team to assess reportability and manage responses.
  • Support the management and escalation of NDIS reportable incidents, SIRS matters and other safeguarding concerns.
  • Review contracts and internal registers to identify emerging regulatory or operational risks.
  • Develop and uplift policy frameworks and training packs (privacy, risk and safeguarding), embedding compliance into everyday operations.
  • Provide pragmatic, commercially aware advice to stakeholders, knowing when to push and when to step back.

You bring:

  • Experience in highly regulated environments, including in risk, compliance, governance or regulatory roles, preferably in a strong operational environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. law, business, commerce, risk, or compliance-related).
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian Consumer Law and the Privacy Act, as well as emerging regulatory and business risks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, approachable, pragmatic and able to influence across technical and non-technical teams.
  • A solutions focused mindset with strong judgement and a safeguarding lens.
  • Demonstrated experience managing incidents and maintaining risk registers.
  • Confidence contributing to executive and board level risk reporting.
A law degree is highly regarded, particularly if you’ve worked in or alongside legal teams.
