As a Room Leader with YMCA Victoria you will lead a team in Clyde North, delivering curriculum under the Early Years Learning Framework and modelling lifelong learning. You mentor permanent and casual staff, uphold high quality practice and accurate records, and engage families. Essential qualifications include a Diploma in Early Childhood or equivalent, First Aid/CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certs, and a Working with Children Card. YMCA Vic Early Learning Centres (ELC's) are safe, supportive spaces offering high quality early learning education and care for children aged six weeks to five years old.

About the role

You will experience specialist support from a diverse and caring team, as you drive community and family engagement, with children at the heart of your service philosophy.

The role of Room Leader role will involve:

• Leading, managing, and motivating appointed room staff to achieve the objectives of the Centre and support staff in their development
• Assisting with the mentoring of permanent and casual employees
• Following an approved curriculum, where you will be a role modelling for children in developing lifelong skills and instilling in them a passion for learning
• Making lessons captivating and enjoyable for individuals and small groups of children
• Delivering consistent high-quality practice of the National Quality Framework
• Ensuring that records are maintained accurately for each child in care

Qualifications required

• Diploma or equivalent qualifications in Early Childhood / Children’s Services or equivalent
• First Aid and CPR certification
