Job Overview

The Safety Controls Engineer will lead the comprehensive upgrade of manufacturing equipment control systems to achieve full compliance with ANSI/ISO Machinery Safety standards and TE corporate standards. This role encompasses project management, design review and certification, team leadership, and hands-on implementation of safety control systems of manufacturing equipment at the Landisville, PA facility. The position requires managing a small team of controls technicians while executing systematic upgrades according to established project schedules and regulatory compliance requirements. The role will report directly to the EHS Manager and will collaborate with EHS and Engineering resources across the site and broader TE organization.

Job Requirements

  • Lead implementation of control reliable safety control systems across the Landisville facility.
  • Review, create, and maintain comprehensive Machinery Safety Lifecycle documentation in accordance with TE corporate standards and ISO requirements.
  • Review SISTEMA reports or Performance Level Calculations of control systems.
  • Manage project schedules and coordinate with production teams to minimize operational disruption.
  • Review and approve all control system designs for regulatory and company machinery safety specifications.
  • Supervise and mentor controls technicians in safety system installation and maintenance.
  • Perform hands-on installation and commissioning of upgraded safety control systems.

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • 3+ years experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, and machine safety.
  • Proven experience programming PLC-based control systems in an industrial environment.
  • TÜV Functional Safety certification (CMSE, CFSE, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
  • Experience with industrial drives, motion control, and servo systems commissioning.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic safety systems is desirable.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Risk assessment experience is a plus.

COMPENSATION
•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $84,900 - $127,400 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
