Sales Associate-Print&Services

Staples is hiring a part-time Sales Associate to join the Cobourg store, focusing on Print & Services. The role is onsite, and you’ll be in the mix of helping customers in person, guiding them through print and related offerings, and working with store leadership to hit sales and margin targets. In this job you’ll spend your days assisting customers with tailored print and service solutions, using Staples’ selling approach to identify opportunities and offer informed recommendations after you learn the full range of products and services. You’ll process transactions at the point of sale and manage print orders from intake to pickup via the dashboard, phone, or counter. Keeping the print area stocked with paper, toners, and supplies, cataloguing orders accurately, and prioritising service paths are all part of keeping the workflow smooth. You’ll also maintain merchandised displays and signage around print and cash areas, maintain inventory control according to company protocols, and ensure all standards in the Print and Services areas are followed, with checklists and audits kept up to date.

On a practical level, you’ll collaborate with store leaders to set and reach sales and margin goals, learn all the standards required in the print services space, and contribute to a clean, well-organised customer experience that protects privacy and safety policies as well as asset protection rules.

A day in the print and services area

Expect to greet customers warmly, build rapport, and offer solutions that fit their printing needs, using the store’s selling model to anticipate what customers may want next. You’ll manage transactions through the POS system and help with shipping transactions or marketing tools designed to convert interest into sales. When orders come in, you’ll take charge of intake or pickup for print jobs, filtering orders from the print dashboard and assisting customers at the counter or over the phone. You’ll keep machines ready to go by stocking paper and toners, while ensuring every print job is logged correctly and routed through the appropriate service path. Keeping the print and cash zones neat, with clear signage and properly stocked displays, is part of your daily routine, along with staying on top of inventory controls and brand standards across the area. You’ll also learn and uphold every standard required in the Print and Services spaces, completing checklists and audits as needed to stay aligned with policy and quality expectations.
