Sales Specialist – Equipment & Consumables

We are seeking an experienced Sales Specialist – Equipment & Consumables, based in Christchurch, to manage and grow our South Island territory. As a key member of our Scientific Solutions team, you’ll develop territory plans, nurture strong customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and proactively drive profitable sales growth.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where your scientific expertise, commercial acumen, and relationship-building strengths directly influence our gross margin and regional success.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Achieving sales and gross margin targets across your assigned territory
  • Proactively managing customer accounts and capturing activity in Salesforce
  • Developing and executing business and customer action plans
  • Conducting regular customer visits (minimum 10 per week) and business reviews
  • Identifying opportunities, progressing pipelines, and closing new business
  • Delivering outstanding customer service and resolving issues professionally
  • Monitoring market, competitor, and customer trends to inform strategy
  • Collaborating with product managers and technical specialists to drive growth

What You’ll Bring

  • 2+ years of sales experience in the NZ scientific market
  • Strong understanding of laboratory equipment and consumables
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth and negotiate commercial outcomes
  • Strong planning, organising, and territory‑management capability
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • A tertiary qualification in Business, Science, or a related field
