SAP Sovereign Cloud in Canberra is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to lead cloud delivery, platform operations and application support. You should have 5+ years in cloud delivery, 2+ years in cloud operations, strong AWS expertise, Terraform IaC, and CI/CD pipelines such as ArgoCD or GitLab CI/CD, plus monitoring and logging skills (Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Splunk). You’ll work with Kubernetes, Docker, EKS and Helm, have scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) and apply security best practices including hardened images and Vault. A Bachelor’s degree and English fluency are required; be onsite in Deakin Canberra and thrive in cross-functional teams. We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer with knowledge in the areas of infrastructure as a service, platform operations, and application support. 

What you bring

• Professional experience in Cloud Delivery related fields and technologies
• Good understanding of deployment automation and the tools e.g. Ansible,
• In-depth knowledge of hyperscalers like AWS required
• Experience with:
• Infrastructure as Code - Terraform preferred
• CI/CD pipeline experience (e.g., ArgoCD, GitLab CI/CD, Concourse)
• Monitoring e.g. Dynatrace, CloudWatch
• Logging e.g. Splunk (preferred), Elasticsearch, Logstash
• Cloud Networking e.g. AWS VPCs
• In-depth experience in technologies used for deploying and managing Cloud-native applications (e.g. microservices):
• Container Orchestration tools e.g. Kubernetes, Docker, AWS EKS and Gardener (opintional)
• Helm charts
• Familiarity with GitLab and/or GitHub
• Scripting background e.g. PowerShell, Bash, Python
• Security best practices including hardened containers and images
• Experience with Security tools e.g. Hashicorp Vault (preferred)
• Database knowledge like PostgreSQL, SAP HANA
• Product knowledge of SAP BTP Products is a plus
• Decision-making, persistence and can-do attitude
• Excellent methodological and conceptual skills paired with analytical thinking
• Proven ability to work in cross-functional teams
• Fluency in written and spoken English
  
  

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.

Work Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in Cloud Delivery related fields and technologies
• 2+ years of experience in cloud operations - developing, delivering and maintaining Cloud Products 
• Professional experience in software engineering, Devops, or SRE.
