Job Description

As a Leader of Learning & Wellbeing at Aspect Western Sydney School, you will provide curriculum and instructional leadership across our multi-campus school, supporting exceptional outcomes for autistic students. Working closely with teachers, teacher aides, therapists and other school staff, you will champion high-quality teaching, student wellbeing and the delivery of our evidence-informed autism-specific educational model, the Aspect Approach.

Bringing strong secondary teaching and curriculum experience, along with a willingness to support primary settings where needed, you will coach and develop staff, lead educational initiatives and contribute as a key member of the school's Learning Support Team. You will build strong partnerships with families and the wider school community and may also undertake classroom teaching responsibilities as required.

About the School: 

Aspect Western Sydney School provides placement for approximately 160 students on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten to year 12. Our main site is located at Wetherill Park with 14 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools across the Western and South Western regions of Sydney.

Qualifications

  • To provide for consistency of support across satellite classes, we are ideally looking for coordinators that are currently working or are available to work full-time (38hrs per week)
  • Recognised University or Tertiary teaching qualifications (as determined by NESA)
  • Registration with NESA (NSW Education Standards Authority) 
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with others
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities including team support
  • Experience working with students on the autism spectrum
  • Experience in developing IP's and curriculum for students on the autism spectrum preferred
  • NSW Working With Children Check for paid employment
  • Depending on the school's location/requirements it may be essential to have a current driver's licence (per relevant state legislation)
  • A Light Rigid (LR) driver's licence is desirable
  • You may be required to provide an International Police Check clearance.

Additional Information

What we offer:

  • Full-time base salary of $94,155k - $133,009k (depending on qualifications, accreditation and relevant teaching experience) + special education allowance $3,866 p.a. + superannuation
