Harvard University is seeking a Seasonal PTS Driver Non CDL to operate an accessible shuttle van, handle on demand ride requests across Cambridge and Allston, and assist passengers with mobility impairments. You’ll perform daily vehicle inspections, cleaning, light maintenance, and occasional parcel delivery while staying in close contact with dispatch. The 40 hour, Monday through Friday night shift pays $31.35 per hour; a valid state license and a solid driving history are required, six years of driving experience preferred, CDL is a plus. You’ll need strong customer service, tablet and email familiarity, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather, lift up to 50 pounds, and wear a uniform. Job Summary:
Operates fully accessible shuttle van as a supplement to the fixed route shuttle bus service. Receives online ride requests via Harvard’s evening van mobile application and responds to requests throughout Cambridge / Allston campuses. Assists passengers with mobility impairments as needed.
Job-Specific Responsibilities:
Operates shuttle van to meet scheduled and on-demand passenger pick-up requests.
Communicates on two-way radio with dispatcher to receive instructions and confirm changes, additions, or deletions from route schedule.
Assists passengers with mobility impairments both entering and exiting.
Performs daily safety inspection of vehicle and equipment. Completes vehicle condition report that includes requests for maintenance and repair.
Performs daily cleaning of vehicle interior including: emptying the trash receptacles, sweeping the floor, and dusting the seating surfaces. Performs refueling of vehicle as needed.
Distributes and collects rider satisfaction surveys and comment cards.
Utilizes on – demand electronic technology to provide safe ride services at night.
Performs related duties as required which may include occasional parcel delivery.
Participates as a member of the Passenger Transport Services Planning Team.

Physical Requirements:
Must be willing and able to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. The incumbent needs the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Three to five years of related passenger transport experience preferred. Must possess strong verbal communication skills, a clear speaking voice and solid customer service skills, including courtesy, flexibility, sensitivity, patience and humor. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a customer-focused team environment required.
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
Technology Skills Required: Basic knowledge of tablet use. Email access proficiency.
Driver Designation: Valid State driver’s license required. Driving history must meet University Operations Services standards. A minimum of six years driving experience required. CDL is preferred.

40 hours
Monday - Friday, 4:00pm - 12:00am
Compensation Range/Rate (including Shift Differential if applicable): $31.35/hr
