Auckland Council is seeking a Senior Advisor to the Councillor Support team within Governance & Engagement, offering a City Centre base with flexible working and the option to buy extra leave. You will provide support, advice and connections to councillors to help them lead effectively and engage with Tāmaki Makaurau, while mentoring junior team members and maintaining impartiality in a political environment. Expect robust policy input, stakeholder relationship management, risk and governance process support, and communications or media assistance. He angitūtanga: The opportunity
Auckland Council’s Governance & Engagement department has an opportunity for a Senior Advisor to join the Councillor Support team. You will be based in the City Centre, with the opportunity to work flexibly.
Your primary responsibility will be to provide support, advice, and connections to councillors, enabling them to operate efficiently, provide leadership, and engage with the people of Tāmaki Makaurau.
As a senior advisor you will mentor and coach other councillor support team members to help them develop their skills and potential.
Within your role you’ll maintain impartiality, while having a sharp understanding of working within a political environment.
