About the Role

This Wellington based opportunity will see you really using being a SME in the Resolutions space and will have a focus on improving the way we do things, spotting efficiencies and generally making us hum.   If you’re all about doing things smarter, then this could be your role.  This is fixed term for 12-months.

 

You will be identifying high-risk or high-impact issues, provide timely and accurate advice, and contribute to analysis that drives systemic improvement.

 

There will be an element of BAU where you will provide senior advice on a variety of complaints, statutory and ministerial requests, and support responses to external oversight bodies including TAIC, Coroners, the Ombudsman, and the Privacy Commissioner.  Working closely with stakeholders across the CAA, you will help strengthen robust, compliant systems and processes.



The salary band starts at $115,536 to $141,751. Starting salaries will be based on the knowledge, skills, and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, as well as internal relativities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse complaints and requests to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain and improve Resolutions team systems and processes to ensure statutory compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Triage, coordinate, and provide advice on complaints and requests, considering complexity and sensitivity.
  • Draft high-quality ministerial correspondence and other responses within agreed timeframes.
  • Coordinate input from subject matter experts in response to findings, recommendations, and notifications from oversight bodies.
  • Provide guidance and advice on complaints and information request practices to managers and staff across the CAA.
  • Build strong, effective relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure solutions and improvements are practical, aligned and fit for purpose.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion, tact, and sound judgment.

 

About You


You’ll Thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring previous experience with process improvement projects and bring a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Have experience managing challenging complaints or statutory requests in a legal, governance, or regulatory environment.
  • Can confidently draft high-quality correspondence and provide considered advice under tight timeframes.
  • Are process-oriented, with the ability to improve systems and workflows to ensure efficiency and compliance.
  • Can work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders to achieve joined-up outcomes.
  • Demonstrates excellent judgment, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive matters.
