How will you make an impact in this role?

The Senior Analyst, POC Marketing role falls within Global Merchant Services (GMS), part of the GMNS Organization, which is the merchant network at American Express that manages the relationships with the millions of merchants around the world that accept American Express Cards. GMS serves as a merchant acquirer, payments processor and marketing partner for merchants of all sizes, including small, regional, national and global businesses.

Global Merchant Services (GMS) Marketing & Analytics is dedicated to bringing buyers and sellers together and transforming how American Express is welcomed. GMS Marketing & Analytics is responsible for partnering with GMS markets to drive profitable growth, accelerate Merchant acceptance and enhance the value of Amex acceptance to Merchants and Card Members at scale. We focus on enhancing our relationships with millions of Merchants of all shapes and sizes, and our geographic purview includes many commerce hubs across the globe including the U.S, Canada, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

The Role

As the Snr Analyst, POC Marketing, you will be responsible for the end-to-end project management and marketing execution of key merchant value and perceptions of coverage programs. Examples of such programs include, but are not limited to Merchant agnostic campaigns such as Grocery, Ecommerce, Shop Small (both Issuer specific as well as National), Dining, Transit, Inbound etc. This role also involves leading and managing multiple external contractual partnerships to drive POC as well as spend activation. Examples of such external partnerships include Tourism Boards, Associations, Chamber of Commerce and Business Improvement Areas (BIAs). These are typically multi-year partnerships involving year round activation, initiatives and campaigns. Strong partnership skills, attention to details, flawless execution and strong project management skills are critical for the role.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end marketing ownership & campaign management of merchant agnostic platform campaigns and all POC programs – industry specific, partner specific or geo specific (eg Grocery in Ontario).
  • Lead and manage external marketing partnerships such as with associations or BIAs (Business Improvement Association) to drive POC, merchant value and spend across multiple channels.
  • Lead and drive the adoption of POC tools such as Maps, Online Directory and Coverage Claims across the enterprise.
  • Partner with the International team on driving Inbound spend via the Inbound program.
  • Support all Transit campaigns and strategy execution.
  • Manage POC budget for Shop Small and Transit including for ATL, BTL, social media etc.
  • Support Global POC survey implementation and local approvals.
  • Influence overall POC strategy, by collaborating with GMNS teams (Client Management, Acquisition, Business Insights, Merchant Value, High-Touch and Partner Marketing) to recommend, implement and measure strategic initiatives to improve Cardmember perception and Merchant activation.
  • Manage program ideation, eligibility, performance and budget optimization to deliver against business metrics.
  • Manage agency partners to develop effective and innovative Merchant Value and POC programs.
  • Collaborate and partner with teams across the Enterprise to promote and drive adoption of POC assets and influence Central teams and leveraging best practices from other regions.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • University Degree or equivalent combination of education and business experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in progressive development and management of marketing/communication campaigns, including testing strategies, analyzing business opportunities, recommending and implementing actions.
  • Project management skills – flawless campaign execution with keen attention to details and budget management.
  • Superior communication and influencing skills, analytical skills will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to operate productively and independently in a fast moving, high energy environment and juggle many priorities at once and manage timelines.
  • Strong business acumen, management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to build and leverage strong relationships, and take initiative, champion a project from conception through implementation to evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with external customers, business partners and delivering compelling programs and results.

Minimum Qualifications

 

Hiring Range: $68,000 to $102,000 annually + bonus + benefits
