Is this your next role?
As Senior Audit Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Head of Internal Audit and ensuring Heartland’s small internal audit  team operates at a high standard. You’ll independently lead complex audits , provide assurance over strategic initiatives, and deliver valuable advisory services to help the business achieve its objectives.

Working in line with International Internal Auditing Standards, you’ll assess emerging risks, collaborate with external auditors and risk partners, and contribute to strengthening our Internal Audit Quality Assurance Program.

Key responsibilities:

  • Leading audits end to end, including planning, fieldwork and testing of controls
  • Collaborating with business, finance, technology and enabling functions to understand emerging risks and control requirements
  • Validating issue closures, supporting issues reporting and assisting with Board reporting
  • Preparing clear and concise audit reports and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Performing risk assessments and contribute to the annual audit plan

Does this sound like you?
You are an analytical, an independent problem-solver with a can-do attitude and a growth mindset. Your strong communication skills allow you to explain technical audit findings clearly to a wide range of stakeholders, building trust and cooperation. You manage your time effectively, can run multiple audits concurrently, and identify root causes of weaknesses using established methodologies.

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications, with CPA/CA/CIA (or similar) preferred
  • Extensive experience in risk‑based internal auditing, external audit, or risk management
  • Experience in banking or financial services 
  • Strong understanding of prudential requirements and consumer protection legislation (AML/CFT, FAA, CCCFA, Responsible Lending)
  • Knowledge of Technology application and general controls
  • Demonstrated experience leading medium- to high‑complexity audits or reviews
  • Experience supporting teams through periods of change and transition
