If you enjoy shaping sourcing strategies, negotiating meaningful contracts and guiding project teams through procurement challenges, this could be a strong fit.

In this on-site, Calgary-based role, you’ll oversee the end-to-end procurement of complex engineered and non-engineered materials and equipment for major capital projects. You’ll apply technical know-how, commercial judgment and market insight to craft sourcing approaches, manage supplier relationships, and support project teams as a trusted procurement advisor. The position is full-time and reports to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain.

The company emphasizes a values-driven culture that supports belonging, connection and innovation, and it’s actively reskilling its workforce to contribute to today’s low-carbon energy transition. This is a solid match for procurement professionals who want to influence major projects from Calgary.

Day-to-day impact on major projects

You will guide the procurement of both engineered and non-engineered materials and equipment for large capital initiatives, shaping how sourcing happens to balance cost, quality, schedule and risk. In practice, you’ll lead negotiations and make contract award recommendations, while building solid relationships with suppliers as well as engineering and project-management teams. You’ll spot procurement risks early, design mitigation plans and keep compliance with company policies and client requirements, all while keeping an eye on market conditions and industry trends to inform decisions. When the team needs it, you’ll mentor junior procurement professionals and contribute to ongoing process improvements that lift supplier performance and project outcomes.

Nice-to-have enhancements

  • Experience guiding procurement work for major capital projects beyond the basics, with an ability to translate technical needs into contracts and supplier obligations

Where and how you’ll work

The role is based in Calgary, Alberta, and involves an on-site workplace setup. It’s a full-time position with Employee status, and it reports to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain. The posting date on the listing is October 18, 2026 and it shows an ongoing unposting date, indicating the role remains open for applicants.

Advice for applicants

Lead your resume with the kind of procurement experience the job describes: emphasize your seven-plus years in engineering, energy or major capital projects, and highlight examples where you sourced complex engineered equipment or materials.

Show how you proved you can negotiate effectively and manage contracts. Include a concrete outcome from a past negotiation, such as cost savings, risk mitigation, or improved supplier terms, and tie it back to a similar scale project you’d handle here.

Prepare to discuss how you balance cost, quality, schedule and risk on multiple priorities in a fast-paced project setting. Have a story ready about a time you aligned engineering needs with supplier capabilities to keep a project on track.

Think up a smart question to ask at the interview. For example: which procurement systems and processes are you using today, and how does the team measure procurement success on major capital projects that support the low-carbon energy transition?
