You will provide end-to-end support from initial contact to claim completion, inform claimants about the process, confirm eligibility, listen to their experiences, connect them to supports, and mentor staff while delivering high quality customer service. You will work in a trauma informed, culturally competent way with Te Reo Māori and tikanga, building relationships quickly with survivors and collaborating across teams. The ideal candidate has sound judgement, clear communication, resilience, and experience supporting people affected by trauma and domestic violence. The Duty team helps claimants through the Historic claims process and is the primary point of contact for them, while they are waiting for their claim to be allocated.
You will make a real difference in these customer-centric roles working and supporting claimants/survivors who have been unjustly treated in State care, in particular the care of Child, Youth and Family and its predecessors.
