We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical leadership and deliver electrical engineering design for complex multidisciplinary projects across the water, wastewater, mining, industrial manufacturing, energy, and food sectors throughout New Zealand, Australia, and Asia. We are open to applications from Senior Electrical Engineers throughout New Zealand.
This position offers the opportunity to work on major infrastructure and industrial developments from concept through to detailed design, procurement support, construction, commissioning, and operational handover. This is a multi-disciplinary role which requires collaboration with process, mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation and controls teams to deliver engineering solutions which are safe, practical, and innovative. You will join a motivated and trusted team who are dedicated to leading impactful projects to solve real-world challenges.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the delivery of electrical projects, and managing design scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and overall project execution.
Undertaking and overseeing the detailed design of electrical systems, including power distribution, low voltage systems, and associated infrastructure for complex industrial and water projects.
Providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, designers, and graduates, including technical reviews and design verification activities.
Supporting project delivery from planning through to commissioning, including engineering estimates, proposals, procurement support, construction, and commissioning activities.
Building strong client relationships and contributing to business growth through proposal development, tender submissions, repeat business opportunities, and strategic growth initiatives.
Championing health, safety, and quality excellence by participating in risk assessments, design safety reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You are a qualified Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience. You possess extensive experience in the design of LV and MV electrical systems, power distribution, motor control, and electrical infrastructure for large capital projects. You are a seasoned project leader who enjoys collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, innovative engineering solutions which create positive client and community outcomes.
In addition, you’ll bring:
Experience delivering detailed electrical design for heavy industrial, water and wastewater projects within consultancy environments, including large multidisciplinary greenfield and brownfield developments.
Good knowledge of Australian and NZ Standards (AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 3008), Electrical Safety Regulations, IEC and IEE Standards, and utility connection requirements
Powercad or other electrical modelling software
The following requirements are desirable, but not essential:
Experience working across the NZ, Australia, and the Asia-Pacific markets
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or the eligibility to obtain chartership
Design and construction support experience
Contractor and vendor management experience
