Senior Engineer (ITS and Electrical) at WSP Australia is a full‑time onsite role based in Brisbane with options across the Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast offices. You’ll deliver ITS solutions from concept through construction and handover, contribute to ITS, traffic signals and public lighting designs for major projects in Queensland and nationally, and lead the delivery of smaller ITS, enforcement, signals and lighting initiatives. Electrical works will align with AS/NZS 3000 and Energy Queensland accreditation, with design brought to life using AutoCAD, PowerCAD and AGI32. Expect QA and design verification focus, client engagement and bid support, plus exposure to emerging tech. Requirements: 5+ years in ITS or electrical transport tech, RPEQ/Chartered status in ITEE and/or Elec or working toward it, solid design/consulting experience, and strong communication. What you’ll do: 

• Deliver ITS solutions from concept through to construction, commissioning and handover  
• Contribute to the delivery ITS, Traffic Signals and Public Lighting designs for major infrastructure projects in Queensland and nationally. 
• Lead the delivery of smaller projects in ITS, enforcement, traffic signals and public lighting.  
• Deliver electrical works in accordance with AS/NZS 3000 and Energy Queensland, to support WSP’s Energy Queensland accreditation. 
• Use tools like AutoCAD, PowerCAD, AGI32, and more to bring your designs to life. 
• Champion quality assurance, design verification, and technical excellence. 
• Support client engagement, business development, and bid preparation. 
• Opportunities to consult on emerging technologies like electric vehicle infrastructure, connected and automated vehicles and AI-camera detection systems. 

This role can be based in WSP in Australia's Brisbane, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast offices. 

About You 

You have a demonstrated background as an ITS and/or Electrical Engineer with experience working on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), signals, enforcement and/or lighting projects. You enjoy engaging with internal and external stakeholders to drive strategic project outcomes an influence how our cities move. 

 In addition, you will bring the following skills and attributes: 

• At least 5 years’ experience in ITS, signals, lighting, or transport technology. 
• RPEQ/Chartered status in ITEE and/or Elec  (or working towards it). 
• Proven experience in engineering design and consulting services. 
• Expertise in AutoCAD, AGI32, PowerCAD, and other design tools. 
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. 
• A collaborative mindset and strong team culture.
