Te Tūranga – About the role

We're looking for commercially minded Senior Financial Analysts to join the team and help shape the future of financial planning, performance reporting, and analytical capability across Foodstuffs North Island.

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you'll be part of our Performance & Planning team, supporting enterprise planning, forecasting, reporting, financial modelling and performance analysis across the organisation. Working closely with Finance Business Partners and stakeholders across the business, you'll help deliver high quality financial insights and forward-looking decision support that drives performance across multiple business portfolios.

You'll also help modernise Finance with data, automation, AI and emerging technologies, improving the way we forecast, analyse and report. This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional reporting and play a key role in helping leaders understand performance, identify opportunities, and make better decisions for the future.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes across the Co-op
  • Developing financial models, scenario analysis and business performance insights
  • Preparing management reporting and performance dashboards
  • Identifying trends, risks and opportunities across financial and operational performance
  • Partnering with Finance Business Partners and business stakeholders to provide meaningful analysis and recommendations
  • Improving reporting efficiency and analytical capability through automation, AI and data driven solutions
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of a modern, high performing Finance function

He kōrero mōu - About you

  • Experience in financial planning, forecasting, management reporting, commercial finance or management accounting
  • Strong analytical and financial modelling capability
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large and complex data sets
  • The ability to translate financial information into clear, practical business insights
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across multiple teams
  • Curiosity about technology, automation, AI and how these can improve Finance outcomes
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a desire to challenge traditional ways of working
