Job Description

As a Senior Flooding & Stormwater Engineer, your impact will be within the Stormwater and Flooding team. The team is a specialist group focusing on delivering solutions in the areas of Water Sensitive Urban Design (constructed waterbodies, bioretention, proprietary water quality devices etc.), hydrological investigations, 1D hydraulic modelling and 2D regional flood modelling. This is an opportunity to work within a passionate and well-established team to deliver innovative solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects - locally and nationally!

You will be responsible for:

• Advising as a technical subject matter expert on flooding and stormwater projects
• Supporting business development activities with new and existing clients to support the strategic direction of the Flooding & Stormwater team
• Conducting risk assessments and advising feasible solutions to clients
• Developing strategies and work methodologies to meet the requirements of the projects.
• Application of fundamentals of Flooding and Stormwater management including assessment of, strategic planning, DA process to design as integrates within the wider business.
• Work on hydrological modelling, hydraulic investigations and flood investigations.

Qualifications

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 6+ years’ professional experience with demonstrated technical expertise in flooding and stormwater engineering within a consultancy environment.

You will also have:

• Tertiary Engineering degree (Civil, Environmental)
• CPENG and/or RPEQ highly desired.
• A good understanding/comprehension of common hydrological and hydraulic investigations 
• Experience undertaking and preparing Stormwater Management Plans and Flood Impact Assessments.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, develop business and project manage
• Proven leadership skills and a desire to train, guide and mentor less experienced engineers
• Strong knowledge and application of local standards, Australian standards and statutory and regulatory requirements relating to civil design and water management
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to manage stakeholders at all levels
• Well-rounded critical thinking and problem solving skills
