Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a trusted People & Development team at a time when leadership, capability and organisational performance are playing an increasingly important role in shaping Vector's future. As Vector continues to evolve, this role will partner with leaders to build capability, support organisational change and help create the conditions for teams to perform at their best.

Across HR, recruitment, organisational development, learning, wellbeing and diversity & inclusion, we work alongside leaders across the business to navigate challenges, strengthen capability and help our people thrive. As trusted advisors, we're invited into some of the organisation's most important conversations, giving this role the opportunity to influence decisions, support leaders through change and make a genuine impact.

Help leaders succeed. Shape what comes next.

Influence where it matters: Partner with leaders to solve complex people challenges and drive meaningful business outcomes.

Build leadership capability: Help leaders grow their confidence, accountability and ownership of people matters.

Drive meaningful change: Support organisational change, workforce planning and capability initiatives that help the business succeed.

Use insight to create impact: Leverage workforce data, people insights and commercial thinking to influence decisions and outcomes.

Grow your career: Join a team that values learning, development, continuous improvement and creating opportunities for future growth.

The role

You'll be joining a trusted, high-performing People & Development team that genuinely enjoys working together. We value collaboration, honesty, continuous improvement and supporting one another to succeed. We work as one team, regularly drawing on each other's perspectives, challenging thinking, sharing knowledge and learning together. We value people who contribute beyond their own portfolio, use others as sounding boards, and are willing to step in and support where needed.

We work hard, have each other's backs and don't mind sharing a good laugh (and some banter) along the way.

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you'll partner with leaders to translate business priorities into practical people plans and workforce initiatives that support delivery, capability and performance outcomes.

You'll provide trusted advice across employee relations, organisational change, workforce planning, leadership coaching and talent, helping leaders build high-performing teams and deliver better people outcomes.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Strategic business partnering and people planning.

  • Leadership coaching and capability uplift.

  • Supporting leaders to create inclusive, engaging and high-performing teams

  • Employee relations advice and support.

  • Organisational change and transformation initiatives.

  • Workforce insights, reporting and data-informed decision making.

  • Process improvement, HR technology adoption and operational excellence.

  • Talent, capability and culture initiatives.

  • Supporting a positive employee and leader experience.

Who are we looking for?

You'll bring:

  • HR Business Partner experience supporting organisational change and transformation within a complex environment.

  • Deep knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and employment practices.

  • The ability to coach, influence and support leaders through challenging people situations.

  • Experience partnering with leaders through organisational change and transformation.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and build trusted relationships.

  • Experience using workforce insights and data to support decision making and business outcomes.

  • A pragmatic approach, balancing pace, compliance and risk.

  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to connect people initiatives to business priorities.

  • Experience working within a shared-services environment, partnering effectively across teams and enabling leaders to access the right support at the right time.

  • A genuine passion for developing leaders, teams and organisational capability.

  • Most importantly, you'll be collaborative, pragmatic, and motivated by making a genuine difference through people.

Why Vector?
