Senior IT Systems Engineer
EmmaEmma – The Sleep Company, the world’s largest direct-to-consumer sleep brand, is looking for a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join its Frankfurt team. This is a full-time, onsite role aimed at keeping Emma’s IT backbone stable, secure, and efficient as the business scales across Europe. Emma was founded in 2015 and now operates in more than 20 markets with over 35 Emma stores across Europe.
People are at the heart of Emma’s mission. The company describes its culture as one that values ownership, collaboration and ongoing knowledge sharing, with colleagues from more than 70 nationalities. If you enjoy taking ownership, solving hard problems and helping a diverse group of teams work better together, you’ll likely feel at home here.
In this key role, you’ll oversee the stability, security and efficiency of Emma’s IT infrastructure. The team is motivated by using modern technologies to tackle complex challenges and drive business results, so you’ll have room to influence how things get done and to push for improvements that help everyone move faster.
Keeping the tech running smoothly for every Emma user
Cloud & Identity sits at the core of your day-to-day. You’ll manage the Identity Provider (Microsoft Entra) and set the standard for how users and groups are organized, keeping access control tight and well-governed. You’ll also keep Office 365 and Microsoft Azure secure, running smoothly, and continuously optimized rather than simply maintained.
Endpoints & Assets means you’ll own the full device and endpoint management stack, from Windows to MacBook, streamlining deployment with Intune. You’ll craft and deploy policies that align with Emma’s security standards and partner with Procurement to manage the IT asset lifecycle from onboarding to retirement, ensuring devices stay ready for use.
Collaboration & Strategy means you’ll drive IT operations forward with scripting and automation, and you’ll mentor junior sysadmins along the way. You’ll work with teams across Emma on projects that sharpen business processes, and you’ll make autonomous, strategic decisions that influence cross‑team architecture and help everyone push toward common goals.
Your essential toolkit
Here’s what Emma is looking for in this role. The must-haves set the baseline for success, while extras would help you stand out.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
- Five or more years in a similar IT role, with strong depth in Azure and Intune
- Clear, effective communication and the ability to discuss technical topics with anyone in the room
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment
- A hands-on mindset, prefer building fixes over describing problems
- Solid scripting skills, with PowerShell preferred
- A drive to automate as much as possible

Advice for applicants
Lead with your Azure and Intune capabilities. On your resume, place a concise summary at the top that highlights more than five years in IT and explicitly calls out your depth with Microsoft Azure and Intune, including any hands-on work with Microsoft Entra for identity management.
Show concrete proof of the must-have skills. Include real-world examples of identity governance, policy deployment via Intune, and end-to-end asset lifecycle management. If you can, mention specific projects where you integrated Office 365 and Azure in a secure, optimized setup and how you automated repeatable tasks.
Prepare for interviews by sharing stories about autonomous IT decisions and cross‑team architecture work. Be ready to discuss how you shaped IT processes or architecture to drive efficiency, and bring examples of mentoring junior admins and delivering results without step-by-step instructions.
Ask a smart question that ties to Emma’s goals. A good line could be how IT strategy aligns with Emma’s growth plans and how success for the Senior IT Systems Engineer is measured, especially in terms of cross‑team collaboration and security outcomes.
