You crave a career that pushes you, where you'll meet challenges head on and you're guaranteed to grow.

Your innovative mindset is key to creating solutions to complex problems. Our systems drive our organisational success and underpin every journey our customers take. This is your opportunity to be part of an expert team who build and refine seamless technology experiences.

In this role, you'll:

Define, develop, and manage ICT products and services across their full lifecycle, ensuring they deliver measurable value to the business and align with organisational objectives. You’ll maintain a strategic view of ICT capabilities, identify opportunities to enhance outcomes, and design services that align with enterprise architecture and maximise return on investment.

Balance business needs with ICT constraints such as resourcing, funding, and delivery timelines, selecting appropriate development approaches (predictive or agile). You’ll manage vendor and supplier relationships, oversee service delivery performance, and ensure service level agreements meet business expectations while driving quality, efficiency, and value for money.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including leadership teams, government agencies, and customers, to support strategic priorities and resolve complex issues. You’ll also address challenges such as financial sustainability of services and balancing short- and long-term demands, while fostering strong partnerships, promoting best practices, and contributing to broader organisational and public sector outcomes.

About you

You take ownership of system operations, making sure platforms are stable, available, and running the way they should. You manage incidents and problems, strengthen application resiliency, and stay on top of monitoring so issues are picked up early and resolved fast. You work closely with platform teams to keep systems online and performing, while making sure everything meets operational standards and runs smoothly day to day.

You bring deep experience (10+ years) in system operations and know how to lead small to medium-sized teams in complex environments. You handle service and API integrations, work confidently with Kubernetes, and manage cloud-based systems, especially in AWS. You understand how to maintain and configure networks, apply strong security practices like encryption and firewall management, and troubleshoot issues by breaking them down into clear, practical actions.

You communicate clearly and stay organised, even when things get busy or complex. You use monitoring tools and data to keep improving system performance and reliability, and you’re always thinking ahead about risks and improvements. You balance technical depth with practical decision-making, backed by strong critical thinking skills and a solid IT qualification or equivalent experience.
